I am a quilter. (There, I’ve said it.) You might think that means pretty flower prints and granny squares (that’s crochet, actually). But quilting’s gone modern which means our great-grandmothers’ creative necessity is now overtly empowering, political, and inclusive.
I make quilts with new and found fabric. As I select the fabrics, machine sew the pieces together, and hand quilt, time slows down and the textures soothe me. I especially love to improvise—not using a pattern—letting my curiosity and not-knowing lead to accidents and discovery.
I also create quilts by commission, incorporating meaningful fabrics that help you remember your loved one or celebrate a special occasion like a birth or wedding. Quilts can also be comforting for someone who is sick or dying. Below are some examples of recent projects. Click on the image to see more.
