Work with Me
Grief is a path of growth and belonging.
As a trained grief tender, interfaith chaplain, and artist, I envision a world where grief is honored and valued. Loss and grief are a natural part of living and loving. I offer practical ways to help you meet your sorrow—whether your loss is fresh or you’ve been carrying it around for a lifetime. Let me be your witness and guide to the sacred alchemy of grief.
“My grief says that I dared to love, that I allowed another to enter the very core of my being and find a home in my heart. Grief is akin to praise; it is how the soul recounts the depth to which someone has touched our lives. To love is to accept the rites of grief.”
- Francis Weller
Take care of your grief.

Sharing is always optional.

Grief & Creativity Retreats
Gather in a quiet natural setting 25 minutes from central Austin for a day devoted to your rest, nourishment, sharing and witnessing grief, and healing creativity.
Bring your sorrow, your notebook, and an open heart and mind. Let me guide you back to your inner creative wisdom. Our day together will include silent meditation, a community grief altar, journaling, creative practices (like collage or mindful photography), and open time for walking, being in nature, and rest.
I offer these one-day retreats seasonally, four times a year. While the overall retreat schedule remains the same, each offering has a unique seasonal theme. Come one time or join me in every season of your grief.
Sliding scale fee: $75-$175
Rites & Rituals
When your loved one dies, it’s overwhelming to meet shock and grief while also planning a gathering to remember them. I help plan the service you envision and officiate at the location of your choice. My services include: guided meditation to calm the nervous system, creating an order of service and script, leading the service, and integrating ways to begin the communal grief journey.
Divorce, surgery, pet loss, retirement, and other life events also deserve acknowledgment through a rite of passage. I work with you to identify meaningful ways to mark life’s transitions.
Sliding scale cost:
Design & lead ritual: $500-$1,000
Home visit: $200/hour (Austin only)
Grief Tending support is ideal for you if:
You have ever lost someone or something you loved. (Which is every single one of us.)
You feel your grief was not met by others. You might have heard it was “too much” or you “should be over it.”
Your loss is fresh or is from decades ago.
You are grieving your person, animal, relationship, job, your sense of self due to illness or life transition (post-college, mid-life, empty nest, retirement), or you are grieving our earth due to climate change.
You are grieving the loss of how you thought things would be—for yourself, for your community, for your country or the world.
You feel alone on your path of grief.
You are living in anticipation of loss of someone or something dear.
You want to feel joy, inner spaciousness, and belonging again.
Is grief tending right for you? Let’s talk.
How is Grief Tending different from Therapy?
Being alone in our sorrow increases it. As a grief tender and chaplain, I listen to you with an open heart and mind. I cannot tell you when you will feel better. I can’t “fix” you because you are not broken, though you may feel broken-hearted right now. I am here to listen, give practical suggestions, and guide you toward healing and integrating your loss.
Grounded in an interspiritual approach, I draw from my experience in meditation, yoga, and practices to soothe the nervous system to help you find islands of calm. I will guide you to create time and space to grieve and encourage you to draw on your inner knowing. Sometimes that includes creating rituals, celebrations, or memorials to honor your loss.
Therapy is offered by licensed counselors and is a form of treatment for emotional distress or mental health problems. While psychotherapy encompasses many kinds of treatment, there is often a focus on exploring past life events that are influencing the present difficulty.
Grief is not an illness. It is a natural part of life. I will tell you if you would be better served by a therapist or if grief tending will complement therapy.
