Grief & Quilts, Y’all!

A quilt my mother made got her through divorce and disappointment—and won her a blue ribbon in the Oklahoma State Fair! Fifty years later, I slept under that same quilt when she died suddenly.

Quilts and grief have a lot in common. Quilts are pieces of old fabric, like memories adding up to a life. Quilts are many-layered like all relationships. And quilts are soft, familiar, ordinary—like grief is when it arrives and is welcomed in.

I make quilts that tell stories of healing and seed dreams and visions I wish for myself and our world.

Magic Quilts - I make “dream quilts” to slip under your pillow and seed the dreams you wish to have. I also make “healing quilts” for people needing extra care as they face difficult times in life.

Art Quilts - My wall art quilts use vintage fabrics, hand sewing, embroidery, notions, and unconventional materials to explore stories of healing.

Snuggling Quilts - I make heirloom quilts for cozy living—for laps, babies, and beds of all sizes. Commission me to make your own snuggle quilt to match your decor or use fabrics you love.

Memory Quilts - Let me create a quilt from meaningful fabrics that help you remember your loved one
